As of now, I have only had a few cigars by Tatuaje and they were pretty tasty. Nothing to shake a stick at but definitely smokable. So, going into this I cant say that my expectations are to high. There are 14 cigars to be exact that I am excited to dive into by Tatuaje, The monster mash but I am waiting until Halloween this year to tap into it.

So far, this cigar looks stellar. It has a wonderful Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a wonderful blend of aged Nicaraguan long fillers. The wrapper has some fine oils protruding off of it. The Aroma is spectacular. Notes of leather and an earthy boldness. It still amazes me that you can smell the earth tones in cigars.

Now this cigar was created by Pete Johnson and this cigar has the same blend as his Fausto line, but are crafted into a “limited edition” box press stick. Here is what irritates me, how do you have 2 cigars with the same blend but call one a “limited edition”? I will have to research this a little more. Either way, its time to crack into this bad boy.

As soon as it is lit, you get smacked in the face with a earthy leather note. Shortly after there is a floral note that comes in but quickly dies out. Rolling into the 2nd third, there are wonderful notes of oak, deep dark espresso and the earthy notes become bolder. As we roll into the final third, there is a hefty amount of bakers cocoa and an all around chewey flavor. The leather gets darker and more potent as the cigar finishes out. All-in-all, its not a bad stick at all. I have had cigars from the Fausto line and this tastes nothing like it but it is good. I would absolutely smoke this again.
