Yes indeed, we all know what day it is. It is my weekly cigar night with my cigar associate, Mr. K. he pulled out this wonderful cigar that he’s been aging ever since it went number one. Very interesting shape, never seen that before. But I’m anxious to dive right into this thing.

La Flor Dominicana are best known for their interesting shapes on their cigars. They also pride themselves in using tobacco‘s that are grown on the companies farms which is located down in the Dominican republic. I do have other reviews that I have just not typed out yet from this particular company including cigars such as the ligero, double ligero and the Cameroon cabinet.

It has a beautiful Ecuadorian corojo wrapper which has a slight oily sheen on it and it also has Dominican binder and filler’s. As you take a good whiff of the cigar it was definitely has notes of an earthy chocolate. The dry draw produced notes of cedar and fat or butter. Very pleasant to the lips and to the pallet.

Now in the first third you can take notes of warm chocolate with a touch of mint. The mint behaves very delicately as it was difficult to figure out that it was mint. My associate Mr. K thinks it might be a menthol, But for this review will leave it as mint. But it becomes very underlined as the first third passes through. As I moved into the second third there were some added notes of red pepper. The flavor becomes bolder towards the middle of the second third which I found to only enhance the already beautiful flavor that was being produced. But as I move into the final third it remain the same except a pepper has now died off. and the mystery flavor that I am saying was mint, I still think was spearmint. It’s very subtle and hard to describe. I’m gonna smoke a couple more of these to see if mint is what I’m going to stay with. This was definitely not an opus X but it was absolutely tasty and $20 apiece I think I might put a few in my humidor.
