Ok, where do I start? I’ll start off by saying I was hesitant on buying this particular cigar. Not because the name and the logo on the wrapper seem to be made of as a gimmick and I didn’t wanna take it seriously, more because Gurkha it’s not a particular cigar that floats too well on my pallet.

In my professional opinion, Gurkha is one of those brands that is a Lot of hype but does not produce good quality cigars. And when I say good quality I mean just that! Most Gurkha cigars that I have smoked in the past have been cheaply made, uneven burning the entire way through the cigar and the construction was so poor, the cigar would fall apart during smoking and would ruin the experience. However, it was recommended to me by a trusted friend and fellow cigar enthusiast and if it wasn’t for him, I would have left it on the shelf.

As I start to get into the cigar, the aroma, it was overwhelmingly wonderful. Black Ops Habano comes dressed in an oily, golden-brown Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and is filled with aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. This does indeed please me because I am a huge fan of tobaccos grown in Nicaragua. I am less a fan of tobaccos grown in the Dominican republic and I am not a fan to this day of anything that comes out of Honduras. But that being said, This stick is emitting notes of bold earth-tones, coffee, and nuts.

But at, first I was taken by complete surprise because I was not prepared for the absolute kick in the nuts that cigar gave me. Thick and heavy but also quite smooth. One hell of a mouth full to say the least. It had dark earth tones and full body is all that I can say is the cigar offered me. I can’t stress enough that I am blown away by the boldness of flavor the protrudes from the stogie.

For a long/Habano wrapped cigar, it did not last very long. You would think as long as it is if you could get through a long intense night of poker, however, it lasted maybe 35 minutes. It had a beautiful drawn to it. I didn’t have to fight the cigar whatsoever. It was nicely wrapped and I did not have any of the filler decide to come out of the endcap like most Gurkha cigars in the past.

All in all it was a good cigar with some slight inconsistency in flavor during the second third But for a decent cigar, $4.50 I have already purchased a box for my humidor. This cigar is something that I would label as a good “golfing cigar“. What I mean by that is, I would gladly take this cigar out for a round of golf or even while riding on my tractor. The main reason for this is, if something were to happen to the cigar, at the price tag. It comes with, I would not be upset if I damaged it.
