OK, I will sum this up with only two words. “Absolutely classic“. The Exodus 1959 by Carlos Torano is a phenomenal blend of five different tobacco leaves from five different countries. This Beautifully crafted Box pressed cigar offers a Honduran, Dominican, Mexican, Nicaragua and Costa Rican tobacco blend. Now, for those of you who have been following me in the cigar world, whether it be via Instagram, personal acknowledgment or through my cigar reviews, knows that I am not a fan of Honduran tobacco at all. But when you get a cigar that has a blend of this many different tobacco‘s including a tobacco leaf from Honduras, I don’t tend to dislike it much because that particular leaf is one of many to create the flavor.

That being said, this cigar has a blend that is oozing with dark/earthy and yet a subtle nutty flavor which leaves me salivating for another as I write this review. let’s start at the beginning. The bold start comes from the Habano wrapper which immediately kicks me in the teeth. The five country blend of tobacco leaves are soft which leaves for the perfect draw and the wrapper being a habano, is slightly oily which leaves a wonderful glossy sheen that is very pleasing to the eye. And in my opinion, adds to the flavor and the aroma equally. Having been a chef since 2001, I try to tell people in the cigar world that the oil that is found on the wrapper Leaf does add to the aroma as much as the flavor. I’ll explain it like this, if you smell olive oil or vegetable oil, it has an aroma. These oils also have a flavor. The same goes with the oil on the tobacco leaf. Not only does it have an aroma but it has a flavor which adds to the entire smoking experience.

The taste upon first draw is soft and subtle but explodes on the retrohale of the pallet with a smooth, dark full body finish that leaves me reaching for another one. throughout the first third, that full bodied quality is amazing considering it’s only a medium to full cigar. Dark notes of chard wood and toasted almonds lather the pallet. But getting into the second third, a dark black cherry note appears with a touch of cedar. Rolling into the final third it balances out elegantly with a splash of mild creamy leather.

What more could you expect from Carlos Torano but perfection. Well here it is in this five country blend that is beautifully crafted, box pressed and is just a wonderful stogie. at $5.50 per cigar, you might as well just stock your humidor. Not only would I enjoy taking the cigar on the golf course with me, but I would actually be sad if I dropped it. This cigar to me is worth stocking and enjoying on a daily basis
