OK, so who is not an Arturo Fuente fan? If you’re not, then you’re just plain old crazy. Fuente makes some of the greatest Cigars on the face of this earth. I was in penn ohio cigar lounge in Sharon Pennsylvania and stumbled upon this little treasure. The 858 sungrown. I had previously had the 858 natural and the 858 maduro, so I figured why the hell not, let’s try the sungrown. Boy am I glad that I picked this cigar up. I’ll also give this little tidbit of information, they don’t make these very often, so get them while you can. After trying this cigar, I went back in and bought the rest of the box. The natural and the maduro sticks you can find but the sungrown is only produced every so often.

Unlike the opus X line, which are Dominican puros, this has Dominican fillers and binder what is cloaked in a beautiful Ecuadorian sungrown habano wrapper. I also love when they put the cedar sleeve and the ribbon on their cigars. This is a Churchhill, 6 1/4 x 47. It is hand rolled like all fuente cigars. The aromas that protrude from the Cigar are absolutely fantastic. Notes of earth and Coco with some slight nut is just wonderful. A dry draw this cigar produces a wonderful bouquet of flavors. Notes of maple and cinnamon with a touch of sugary sweetness with a creamy flavor make this cigar absolutely succulent.

Lighting it up however, ignites an entirely different feeling. You get a blast of Cedar Straight out of the gate. A touch of sweet leather and figs with blueberries coat your pallet. In the second third however, there is some cinnamon that comes into the mix and the leather starts to die off, but the fig still stands in the front. The creaminess that I tasted in the dry draw appears and makes the entire second third just wonderful. A splash of nutmeg comes into the mix as I go into the final third with the blueberries slightly coming back, the figs standing at the forefront with the leather about fades out. All in all, this was one hell of a cigar and I am glad I bought the rest of the box. If and when they decide to release another box of these, I will buy A new humidor just for these. Every so often you find a diamond in the rough and for $7, this cigar in my opinion is worth way more.
