So, As of the date of this review, I have only had the pleasure of having 4 cigars by Rocky Patel and 3 of them were stellar, the one, NOT so much. I will just keep that stick to myself do to how much I hated it. I chose this particular cigar because it is a “Anniversary” cigar. As I’ve said before, anything that is “Special Edition, Limited Release or Anniversary” I like to test because the maker tends to put more time and effort into the creation, blending and overall smoking characteristics because it is a special cigar. I'm hoping that today in know different.

This cigar falls right into that category. It has a wonderful dark chocolate brown Honduran Maduro wrapper with a Honduran binder and Nicaraguan/ Honduran long fillers. As many of you know, Honduran tobacco is not really my favorite but the aroma of this is fantastic so I'm definitely excited to try this stick.

Speaking of aroma… This stick has a wonderful aroma with notes of bakers cocoa, mild clove and some mild milk chocolate. I know its weird to say I smell “Milk” chocolate, but you can definitely smell a creaminess in this stick.

As this cigar is first lit, you immediately get hit with a powerful burst of leather followed by that bakers cocoa that was in the aroma. There are also some mild notes of coriander. As the 2nd third comes in, notes of zesty citrus appears. It kind of tastes like mandarin oranges. It is very subtly though. Finally, the final third reveals notes of almonds and a hefty amount of earth. That mild zesty citrus completely disappears which is sad because it was pleasant. The leather notes at the beginning come back with a vengeance as well as some fresh cedar chips.

Although this has more Honduran tobacco than I would of wanted, this is a f**king fantastic cigar. I am glad I tried it and am contemplating buying a box of them. First, I want to try the Natural version and compare. Stay tuned for the comparison review……
